ExeVox is a vibrant chamber choir of around 20 singers, brought together by personal connection and shared passion. Our members hail from across Devon and Dorset, united by one powerful force: the sheer joy of singing together.

What sets ExeVox apart is the emotional depth and excitement we bring to every performance. Our repertoire is as varied and adventurous as our voices — at any concert, you might be transported by the beauty of Bach or Byrd, then swept away by the soul of Gershwin, the shimmer of Whitacre, or the timeless melodies of The Beatles. We love the music we sing, and that love shines through every note.
Each season, we present two to three concerts that range from intimate a cappella moments to stirring performances accompanied by gifted instrumentalists. We often welcome professional musicians to join us in larger-scale masterpieces — from Brahms’ Requiem and Vivaldi’s Gloria to Mozart’s Requiem and Handel’s Coronation Anthems. Many of our soloists come from within the choir itself, and we frequently divide into smaller ensembles to bring texture and surprise to our programmes.
Our concerts are usually held in the beautiful churches of Devon, where music and architecture combine to create something magical. Almost every performance supports a local charity — it’s central to our ethos. Over the years, we’ve raised funds for causes close to our hearts, including Age UK, Hospiscare, the Motor Neurone Disease Association, the Carers’ Association, and the preservation of Devon’s historic churches.
ExeVox has also taken its music beyond our borders, sharing our passion on international tours to Belgium, Italy, and twice to the inspiring town of Mirepoix in the south of France.
We are more than a choir — we are a musical family, committed not only to excellence but to connection, community, and joy. At the heart of it all is a love for the transformative power of choral music.
ExeVox is proudly managed by a group of elected Trustees, all dedicated to nurturing the choir’s spirit and future.
