Music for an Autumn Afternoon

St James Christow, June 2013

We were delighted to welcome ExeVox back to Christow for their third concert with us. On Saturday 8 June we were treated to a feast of music from around the world, and in an impressive range of languages. The programme included something for everyone, from sacred pieces all the way through to Flanders and Swann and Perry Como. ExeVox bring us such wonderful variety (men only, ladies only, solos, duets, wonderful choral harmonies) and so clearly enjoy what they do. Their Musical Director, Peter Adcock, once again enabled them to reach a stunning standard of performance. Not only did ExeVox bring us a fabulous concert, they helped us raise over £600 for church funds! We have already booked them again for June 2015!

St Andrew's Ipplepen, June 2013

ExeVox helped St Andrew’s Church, Ipplepen, to raise over £200 for church funds at its concert Harmony Across The Globe on Saturday 1 June 2013.

Singing music from all over the world - from America to Russia, and across time, from the 16th century to the present, the chamber choir was conducted by their musical director Peter Adcock and with two solos from Tom Morris. This was glorious music beautifully sung. With a backdrop of our lovely carved screen glowing in the evening sun this was a real treat for all who were there - truly an evening to remember. We hope we will hear them again soon!

Exeter Guildhall, 20 April 2013

Saturday 20 April 2013 - ExeVox Around The World
Venue: Exeter Guildhall
In aid of the Lord Mayor's charity of the year - SOCOPS

ExeVox was pleased to be able to accept the invitation to sing at the Guildhall on Saturday 20 April, in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Exeter, and in aid of the Lord Mayor's charity of the year, SOCOPS - a local charity which provides opportunities for social interaction by children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. The concert raised over £300 for the charity.

In a programme which led the audience round the world, ExeVox performed songs from the fifteenth century to the twentieth and in no fewer than eight languages (English, French, German, Latin, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Welsh), rounding the evening off with a medley of Perry Como - "magic moments" a-plenty!

Church Safari, October 2012

On Sunday 14 October, members of ExeVox embarked on their first “church concert safari”, touring the churches of Netherexe, where they performed a short concert in each church and collected money for HospisCare. With a programme of some of their favourite unaccompanied pieces (from Tallis and Bruckner to modern arrangements of traditional spirituals), ExeVox entertained audiences at the Parish Churches of St Mary the Virgin, Rewe, St Thomas of Canterbury, Thorverton and Our Lady, Upton Pyne. Entry to the concerts was free, and the retiring collections for HospisCare raised a total of £129.42. We received an enthusiastic reception in all three churches and thoroughly enjoyed our first “church safari”.
